Daniel Carder: Unsung QB
When one thinks of the 2000 Commerce Tigers it is usually Monte this or Mikey that or Casey Gary was a killer. but one player who often gets forgotten is Daniel Carder who was the QB for maybe the best team ever assembled in Commerce. I know that pressure is taken off the quarteback when a great running back is on the field but Carder did everything that was asked of him. He threw the ball deep to Collins. He ran the option well. He was a good leader. He may not have had but one season as the starter but he was as effective as any QB that Commerce has witnessed. If not for a bad team outing in the Dome, he would have been the leader who was in charge of the offense when the Tigers lifted the state title instead of missing out.
