Another NFL er from C Town
In addition to Gene White, Commerce had another player to make it to the NFL. His name was Felton McConnell, sometimes known as Frank.
He played guard for Commerce High in 1918. He played guard for the University of Virginia in 1920 before transferring to Georgia Tech where he also played guard for two years from 1922-23.
Felton McConnell later played guard for one season in the National Football League for the Buffalo Bisons in 1927.
Tiger NFL er
Gene White, who played end at the University of Georgia from
(1950-53) also played professional football for the
Green Bay Packers. I found very little from his NFL days as far as stats but the fact that he made it to the League is impressive enough. He played in 9 games before an injury ended his football career.
